Emergency Earloop Straps for Totobobo Mask: Quick Replacement Guide

If your Totobobo mask strap breaks, you can replace it quickly without buying a new mask.

Emergency Earloop Replacement Using a Surgical Mask

Need an emergency replacement for a broken earloop? A simple solution is to cut earloops from a surgical mask and use them as temporary replacement straps.

This is a temporary workaround for urgent situations when you can’t get a replacement strap right away. After fitting the replacement, check that the mask sits securely and seals against your face. A secure-looking fit does not necessarily guarantee an effective seal.

Keep a Spare Totobobo Replacement Strap and O-Ring

This article was inspired by an urgent request from my friend Kenneth, who was preparing to fly to China for a three-week mountain-climbing trip.

Kenneth wanted to bring his Totobobo mask, but the O-ring connecting the versatile strap to the mask had broken. He needed a replacement before his departure.

Fortunately, I had a couple of spare straps available. Since Kenneth lived nearby, he could pick them up before leaving for his trip.

I had also heard from customers in India who experienced similar strap problems. Another customer asked whether she could buy an additional versatile strap with an earloop mask, so she would have an alternative if the earloop arrangement didn’t work well for her child.

These incidents were uncommon compared with our overall sales. However, they highlighted a practical point: a spare strap and O-ring can be useful when you depend on your Totobobo mask while travelling or during other important activities.

Where to Buy Totobobo Replacement Straps

You can purchase a replacement Totobobo versatile strap and O-ring from our Totobobo online store.

Consider keeping a spare set if you travel frequently, use your mask for outdoor activities, or want a backup in case the original strap or connecting O-ring breaks.

A surgical mask earloop can serve as an emergency alternative, but a spare Totobobo strap and O-ring provide a more direct replacement for the original arrangement.

  1. Where can I buy replacement straps and orings? Don’t want to have to change mask – I love mine…

  2. The o ring holding the filter cover can be replaced by a normal rubber ring of similar size. Should be easy to find from shops selling office stationary.

  3. When replacing a filter, the O ring which holds the filter casing in place snapped as it had frayed. I have been searching for where the buy replacement O rings. Does anyone know where to buy these? Otherwise the mask cannot be used again which would be a great shame as I have three people who have asked me about it and am going to send them the link to the website.

  4. I broke one of the straps too and would love it if you sell replacement straps.

  5. Yup. Its a good idea 🙂

These straps do last quite long, and dont really break unless you are rough with them ( I am and I have broken one after almost a year of use ! )

  6. Hi Francis,

I actually had a look to see if I could buy the straps off your website before giving you a call, but could not find it for sale. It’s easy enough to self-replace and I think that if you use the Totobobo long enough, you’ll need to replace the straps at some point in time.

    Ken
