Honest Reviews of the Best Cycling Mask | Totobobo

Since using the mask, both the sore throat and congestion have disappeared. Spread across the year, the cost of my mask works out at about US$6 per month, which is actually very cheap when you see what gets trapped on the filters. Once it’s on, it is very comfortable and I tend to forget about it… It’s quite alarming to see what the filters collect, that would have otherwise been in my lungs. Overall I would (and have) recommended it to anyone cycling in an urban area.

Just 35 minutes on my bike, and I was amazed to see it had already discoloured. A huge bonus for me is that it cuts down on cold dry air going straight into my lungs; the mask seems to warm and moisten the air. Design simplicity — yes. Functionality — yes. Fashionable — no! I doubt I will ever cycle again without it. Just ordered my second mask to keep at my workplace.

I am using the Totobobo mask for over a year. I cycle to work in heavy traffic, and the mask makes my breathing much easier. I’ve tried other masks in the past, like Airbreath, and none does its work like Totobobo.

I have used masks from North and 3M, but all of them were stuffy and prohibitively expensive to replace. Indian cyclists’ blogs and forums recommend Totobobo: easy to adjust to your face, and the filters are cheap — important because the pollution here means filters need changing often.

My wife commutes 14km by bicycle and developed sneezing, running nose and throat infections. A 3M half-face mask size S didn’t fit her small face and isn’t designed for heavy breathing. Bangalore cycling groups recommended Totobobo — and it can be customised to fit a small face.

I ride all over New York City and have developed a terrible lung irritation because of the pollution. From everything I read, this seemed like the best mask both for protection and comfort.

Salt Lake City has some of the worst air quality in the US. I commute year-round by bike and I don’t want to drive (making the air situation worse) when the air is unhealthy.

Riding through rush-hour traffic is full of nasty noxious fumes. I have tried other masks and was not satisfied — they are heavy, bulky and hot. If it works in China, I bet it will do the trick here.

A study on vehicle pollution woke me to its impacts. Cars pass within a few feet, exhausts spewing fumes into my path. Blocking 90%+ of particulate is of great importance as I hope to live a long and healthy life.

I’ve been looking for a decent mask since Sydney’s bush fires. Now I’m going to be riding up to 80km per day commuting into Sydney — up to 1,200 people die of respiratory illness caused by vehicle traffic here each year. I’d rather not be part of that.

I’ll soon be moving from Germany to Nepal. Where I cycled here in the countryside there was not much to worry about, but Kathmandu is a different story. I fear the filters will last below a week!

I ordered a Cyclist SuperCool package as a present for my wife. She cycles daily in Lisbon and dislikes the pollution from traffic — particularly when she gets stuck behind buses.

I’m from Santiago de Chile, a big city with a lot of smog; spring pollen plus the pollution kill my lungs. Totobobo seems the most appropriate for high-speed cycling through the city.
